【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforuseinanalyticallaboratoriesincludingonsitein-serviceoilanalysislaboratories.Hardparticlesinlubricatingorfluidpowersystemshaveadetrimentaleffectonthesystemastheycauseoperatingcomponentstowearandalsoacceleratethedegradationoftheoil.Hardparticlesintheoiloriginatefromavarietyofsourcesincludinggenerationfromwithinanoperatingfluidsystemorcontamination,whichmayoccurduringthestorageandhandlingofnewoilsorviaingressintoanoperatingfluidsystem.Highlevelsofcontaminantscancausefilterblockagesandhardparticlescanhaveaseriousimpactonthelifeofpumps,pistons,gears,bearings,andothermovingpartsbyacceleratingwearanderosion.Particlecountresultscanbeusedtoaidinassessingthecapabilityofthefiltrationsystemresponsibleforcleaningthefluid,determiningifoff-linerecirculatingfiltrationisneededtocleanupthefluidsystem,oraidinginthedecisionofwhetherornotafluidchangeisrequired.Toaccuratelymeasurehardparticlecontaminationlevels,itisnecessarytonegatetheparticlecountscontributedbythepresenceofsmalllevelsoffreewater.Thismethodincludesaprocessbywhichthiscanbeaccomplishedusingawater-maskingdiluenttechniquewherebywaterdropletsofasizebelowthetargetlevelarefinelydistributed.Certainadditivesoradditiveby-productsthataresemi-insolubleorinsolubleinoil,namelythepolydimethylsiloxanedefoamantadditiveandoxidationby-products,areknowntocauselightscatteringinautomaticparticlecounters,whichinturncausesfalselyhighcounts.Theseandsimilarmaterialsarecommonlytermedx201C;softparticlesx201D;(see3.1.5)andarenotknowntodirectlyincreasewearanderosionwithinanoperatingsystem.Thecontributionoftheseparticlestotheparticlesizecumulativecountisnegatedwiththismethod.Theuseofdilutioninthistestmethodcounteractsviscosityeffectsforhighlyviscousoilsthatimpacttheaccuracyofautomaticopticalparticlecountingresults.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofparticleconcentrationandparticlesizedistributioninnewandin-serviceoilsusedforlubricationandhydraulicpurposes.1.2Particlesconsideredareintherangefrom4x00B5;m(c)to200x00B5;m(c)withtheupperlimitbeingdependentonthespecificautomaticparticlecounterbeingused.Note18212;Forthepurposeofthistestmethod,waterdropletsnotmaskedbythediluentprocedurearedetectedasparticles,andagglomeratedparticlesaredetectedandreportedasasinglelargerparticle.Note28212;Thesubscript(c)isusedtodenotethattheapparatushasbeencalibratedinaccordancewithISO11171.Thissubscript(c)strictlyonlyappliestoparticlesupto50x00B5;m.1.3Lubricantsthatcanbeanalyzedbythistestmethodarecategorizedaspetroleumproductsorsyntheticbasedproducts,suchas:polyalphaolefin,polyalkyleneglycol,orphosphateester.Applicableviscosityrangeisupto1000mm2/s@40x00B0;C.Thisproceduremaybeappropriateforotherpetroleumandsyntheticbasedlubricantsnotincludedintheprecisionstatement.1.4Samplescontainingvisibleparticlesmaynotbesuitableforanalysisusingthistestmethod.1.5Samplesthatareopaqueafterdilutionarenotsuitableforanalysisusingthistestmethod.1.6Thetestm......
