【摘要】:Differentusersofinformationtechnologyproductspossessdifferentsetsofabilities.Someabilitiesmaynoteverbepresentinauserastheymayhavebeenbornwithoutthem.Someabilitiesareacquired,developedordeteriorateovertimeduetoeducation,maturity,injury,illnessorage.Justasitispossiblethatauserpossessesacombinationofabilities,itisalsopossiblethattheymaylackacombinationofabilities.ThisTechnicalReportpresentsiconsandsymbolscurrentlyusedtoprovideaccesstofacilitiesandtoolstosupporttheneedsofelderlyanddisabledusersofinformationtechnology(IT)products,andcouldformthebasisofafutureInternationalStandardwhichwouldprovidearecommendedcollectionoficonsandsymbols.Theseiconsandsymbolshavebeencollectedfromavarietyofsourcesincludingotherstandards,contemporarysoftwareproducts,websitesandhardwaredevices.Thesesourcesarecross-referencedandlistedintheBibliography.Theiconsandsymbolspresentedherearecategorizedbymodalityandmethodofuse.NOTE1ISO(theInternationalOrganizationforStandardization)andIEC(theInternationalElectrotechnicalCommission)donotinanywayendorse,recommendordissuadetheuseofanyoftheiconsandsymbolspresentedinthisTechnicalReport.NOTE2TheiconandsymboldesignsreproducedinthisTechnicalReportremainthepropertyofthesourceownersandmaynotbedirectlycopiedintoITproductswithoutthepermissionofthesourceowners.
