【摘要】:ThisTechnicalReportpresentsasummaryoftheresearchoftheS.M.T.Project:F.A.C.T,SMT4CT962135.AssuchitdetailsthesupportinginformationfortheproposalsforanewconditioningstandardtoreplaceEN73andEN84andformodificationandvalidationofENV12037.ThefullreportispresentedandreferencedtoTechnicalannexes,whichareavailableonrequest.TheFACTprojectinvolvedthestudyofthefateofchosenwoodpreservativesinfieldandlaboratorytestsandtheaffectonbiologicalperformance.Theworkconsistedoffourcoretasksandassociatedsub-tasksdesignedtoprovidethescientificbackgroundtotheproposalsmade.Task1Thisconsistedofastudyofartificialweatheringtechniquesfortheconditioningoftreatedtestblockspriortobiologicaltest.ItwasoriginallyhopedthatitmightbepossibletorelatedifferentweatheringcyclestothedifferentclimaticconditionsfoundwithinEurope.HoweverthisdidnotprovepossiblebutitispossibletorecommendasingleweatheringcycletoreplacetheuseofEN73andEN84.Adraftexperimentalstandardhasbeenpreparedbasedonthefindingsofthiswork.AllthesupportingdataandassociatedstudiesaresummarisedinthisTechnicalreportinclauses5and6.Task2ThistaskconsistedofanextensivefieldtestbasedonENV12037andassociatedsub-tasks.ThemethodprovedveryrobustbutsignificantmodificationsarerecommendedandtheENVistoberedraftedinthelightofresultscontainedinthisreport.Thisfieldtestshouldbeconsideredas‘simulatedservicetrial’ratherthananacceleratedfieldtest;aconceptthatneedscarefulconsiderationwithintheEN599framework.Sub-tasks2.3and2.4examinedthesuitabilityofthemethodforcompositesandthetestingofnaturallydurabletimbers.Atthisstageitistooearlytomakerecommendationfortheirinclusioninthestandardbuttheresultslookpromisingandthemethodwillprobablybemodifiedatalaterrevision.Tasks3and4Thesetasksexaminedtheroleofbio-conditioningoftestsamplesin‘useclass’3and4.Theresultsarepresentedinclauses8and9andclearlyindicatetheimportanceofthissubject.Itisrecommendedthaturgentattentionisgiventotakingthisworkfurtherparticularlyforthetestingoforganicbasedpreservatives.Althoughnotyetreadyforstandardisation,theresultspresentedherewillproveinvaluabletoindustryindesigningdevelopmentprogrammesforthenewgenerationoforganicbasedpreservatives.Insummary:anewexperimentalstandardwillbeproducedtoreplaceEN73andEN84forthephysicalconditioningoftestblocks;ENV12037willbemodifiedtotakeintoaccounttheextensivefindingsoftheproject;theuseofENV12037fornaturaldurabilityandcompositetestingwillbeconsideredwhenmoreresultsareavailable;furtherworkonbiologicalconditionsisurgentlyrecommended.
